Stretch & Flow Yoga – This class style integrates flowing stretches and balance poses with mindful breathing to enhance muscle tone, flexibility, balance and focus. Each class starts with a guided mindful breathing and settling in space to promote a sense of peace and a calmer more focused mind.  A meditation/reflection on a selected bible verse is included in this time, inviting you to step aside from the busyness and distractions of life and open your heart to draw close to Jesus and allow Him to refresh your body, mind, heart, and soul. 

Options are given throughout the class to modify poses and incorporate the use of props such as blocks, bolsters, and straps (supplied by Living Waters Sanctuary) to ensure people with a wide range of physical abilities and flexibility can benefit from this class. A soothing relaxation with the option of using a lavender eye pillow, a closing prayer and blessing will complete the practice.  You will leave class feeling refreshed, re-energised and refocused with a renewed sense of connection with Christ and purpose for the week ahead. This class is suitable for all levels of yoga experience and flexibility.

Gentle Stretch Class – This is a very gentle, nurturing and supportive yoga class suitable for people of any age who would love to participate in a yoga class for its many health benefits but find general yoga mat-based classes too difficult due to physical limitations and health conditions.

Each gentle stretch class begins with a time of guided muscular relaxation and deep breathing whilst seated on a chair to help calm the mind and relax the body. As we settle into stillness, and move into our heart space, there is an invitation to enter into God’s peace and rest as we reflect on a specially selected bible verse. 

We then transition into gentle supported stretching and balance poses integrating mindful breathing.  A range of yoga props including a chair, and yoga blocks and straps are incorporated into these classes to ensure stretches can be performed safely and effectively. Classes close with a time of relaxation which can be done in your chair or lying down on a yoga mat.

This class will help you gently and safely stretch tight muscles and stiff joints as well as help you feel calmer and more relaxed through mindful breathing.  Feel relaxed and refreshed after this class.

Slow Flow Yoga – This class style is gentle and restorative in nature and is the perfect way to unwind towards the end of a busy week as well as a beautiful way to complete the weekend and start a new week. We start each class with a time of guided relaxation and deep breathing to help calm the mind and activate our rest and digest response. As we settle into stillness, and move into our heart space, there is an invitation to draw near to God and enter into His peace and rest as we reflect and meditate on a specially selected bible verse. We then move into gentle stretching and balance poses integrating our mindful breathing. A soothing relaxation, using a calming lavender eye pillow will complete this restorative practice. The use of blocks and bolsters are encouraged throughout this class to facilitate a gentle and restful practice. You will leave feeling refreshed, recentred and restored, with a renewed sense of connection with Jesus. This class is suitable for all levels of yoga experience.

Happy Hips Yoga – This class style incorporates gentle stretches with an emphasis on releasing tension and tightness in the hips. As with our other class styles, each class starts with a time of guided relaxation and deep breathing to help calm the mind and activate our rest and digest response. As we settle into stillness, and move into our heart space, there is an invitation to draw near to God and enter into His peace and rest as we reflect and meditate on a specially selected bible verse. 

We then move into gentle stretches with an emphasis on taking the time to slowly and gently release through the hips. Many of us store tension and tightness in our hips which can impact the rest of our body. Releasing through the hips can also help to release tension and tightness in other part of the body, including the lower back and the legs. A peaceful relaxation will complete our happy hips practice. The use of blocks and bolsters are encouraged throughout this practice to facilitate the poses. This class is suitable for all levels of yoga experience.

Private One to One Yoga Classes –  With over 25 years experience as an Occupational Therapist, I have extensive knowledge of the impact chronic health conditions can have on function and quality of life. Private classes enable people to participate in a regular yoga practice and experience the many health benefits of breathing, gentle and safe stretching and relaxation. Each class is gentle and nurturing and designed to meet the needs of the individual. Where needed, we use yoga props including yoga blocks, straps, bolsters, knee padding. Some poses can even be done while seated in a supportive chair. All equipment is supplied for these classes.

Self managed and plan managed NDIS Clients are welcome.

Men’s Stretch Class – I have created this class specifically for men to have the opportunity to step away from all the busyness and pressures of life and discover the benefits mindful breathing and stretching can have for their physical and mental health and well-being. These benefits include reduced tightness and stiffness in muscles and joints, improved flexibility and strength, reduced muscle tension and other symptoms related to stress and anxiety. Long term benefits include improved posture, reduced risk of joint and soft tissue injury, improved sleep patterns and can assist in the management of chronic pain and other health conditions.

Classes begin with mindful breathing, guided muscular relaxation and Scripture reflection. This is followed with a range of stretches using props such as blocks where needed to facilitate safe and effective stretching. Each class ends with a time of guided relaxation.
