In Studio Classes

Stretch & Flow Yoga – This class style integrates flowing stretches and balance poses with mindful breathing to enhance muscle tone, flexibility, balance and focus. Each class starts with a guided mindful breathing and settling in space to promote a sense of peace and a calmer more focused mind.  A meditation/reflection on a selected bible verse is included in this time, inviting you to step aside from the busyness and distractions of life and open your heart to draw close to Jesus and allow Him to refresh your body, mind, heart, and soul. 

Options are given throughout the class to modify poses and incorporate the use of props such as blocks, bolsters, and straps (supplied by Living Waters Sanctuary) to ensure people with a wide range of physical abilities and flexibility can benefit from this class. A soothing relaxation with the option of using a lavender eye pillow, a closing prayer and blessing will complete the practice.  You will leave class feeling refreshed, re-energised and refocused with a renewed sense of connection with Christ and purpose for the week ahead. This class is suitable for all levels of yoga experience and flexibility.

Slow Flow Yoga – This class style is gentle and restorative in nature and is the perfect way to unwind towards the end of a busy week as well as a beautiful way to complete the weekend and start a new week. We start each class with a time of guided relaxation and deep breathing to help calm the mind and activate our rest and digest response. As we settle into stillness, and move into our heart space, there is an invitation to draw near to God and enter into His peace and rest as we reflect and meditate on a specially selected bible verse. We then move into gentle stretching and balance poses integrating our mindful breathing. A soothing relaxation, using a calming lavender eye pillow will complete this restorative practice. The use of blocks and bolsters are encouraged throughout this class to facilitate a gentle and restful practice. You will leave feeling refreshed, recentred and restored, with a renewed sense of connection with Jesus. This class is suitable for all levels of yoga experience.

Chair Yoga – This class style is a gentle and nurturing form of yoga which incorporates the use of a chair throughout the entire class, enabling people with physical limitations such as joint pain to experience the many health benefits of participating in a yoga practice. Poses are performed either seated on a chair or standing holding the back of the chair for support. As with every class, these classes will begin with a time of guided relaxation and deep breathing to help calm the mind and activate the rest and digest response. As we settle into stillness, and move into our heart space, there is an invitation to draw near to God and enter into His peace and rest as we reflect and meditate on a specially selected bible verse. 

We then move into gentle supported stretching and balance poses integrating mindful breathing. Classes will finish with a seated relaxation. This class will help you stretch and relax sore/tight muscles, as well as calm the mind and settle into the heart space. You will leave feeling re-energised and refreshed and with a renewed sense of connection with Jesus. This class is suitable for people who are unable to participate in a general yoga class due to physical limitations. 

Mums and Bubs Yoga – This yoga class is especially created for Mummas and their bubbas. Classes will be fun and relaxed and will involve your beautiful babies throughout the class. We will aim to commence each class with some mindful deep breathing to help promote a sense of calmness. We will then move into our stretches to help relieve muscle tension and gently strengthen and tone the muscles. Mindful breathing is encouraged throughout the class due to its benefits in promoting a sense of calmness through the activation of the rest and digest response. Class will close with a short, guided relaxation. The aim with this class is to create a welcoming and nurturing space of community and support where you will have the opportunity to meet and connect with other like- minded Mummas and perhaps form lifelong friendships. No previous level of yoga experience is required to participate in this class. 

Happy Hips Yoga – This class style incorporates gentle stretches with an emphasis on releasing tension and tightness in the hips. As with our other class styles, each class starts with a time of guided relaxation and deep breathing to help calm the mind and activate our rest and digest response. As we settle into stillness, and move into our heart space, there is an invitation to draw near to God and enter into His peace and rest as we reflect and meditate on a specially selected bible verse. 

We then move into gentle stretches with an emphasis on taking the time to slowly and gently release through the hips. Many of us store tension and tightness in our hips which can impact the rest of our body. Releasing through the hips can also help to release tension and tightness in other part of the body, including the lower back and the legs. A peaceful relaxation will complete our happy hips practice. The use of blocks and bolsters are encouraged throughout this practice to facilitate the poses. This class is suitable for all levels of yoga experience.

Mens Yoga – I have created this class as I know how beneficial yoga can be for health and well- being for everyone. I would love to encourage men to participate in a yoga class catering specifically for their needs enabling them to discover the benefits of stretching and mindful breathing not only to improve flexibility but to help them find a place to rest and be restored body, mind, heart and soul. Our yoga class would start with a mindful breathing exercise and an invitation to draw near to God as we reflect on a passage of scripture. We would then move into our stretches using props such as yoga straps and blocks as needed to facilitate the stretches.  As a trained Occupational Therapist, I have extensive knowledge on how the female and male bodies differ in their levels of flexibility and therefore classes would be designed with this in mind. Every class would end with a peaceful relaxation.
